Recommended Titles

Today it seems everyone's site is promoting books - so why should mine be any different?

Well one thing that should set this list apart is that it will be very short. Not because I don't like books, but because most of those I do like are listed on my other site http://parish.ashtead.org/books.htm The books are listed in alphabetical order of title.
In-Print books are available, as they say, 'from all good book sellers', including Amazon.co.uk. Just click on the books below or their links to go to Amazon's relevant pages.

From when I first heard extracts from this book on radio 4 I knew I was going to like it. Encryption is not normally explained even moderately well, Yes this book is engaging but it is also accurate.
in print Book cover: Hitman Hitman
Max Kinnings: Published 2000 by Flame, 295 pages, paperback
You can focus on the character's foul mouth, the heavy drug abuse, the boy racer, the violence, the squalor that is London today, or the lengthy BMW advert that this book is. Or you can sit back and enjoy the amazing roller-coaster story. One started you really won't want to put the book down. Not convinced? Here's a link to Max Kinnings' web site and you can read the first chapter This is how I got hooked. You know how it is you're searching for something on Google and you happen across something good

in print Book cover: Neverwhere Neverwhere
Neil Gaiman: Published 2000 by Feature, 387 pages, paperback
Where most books will deviate when you see them on TV this *IS* the version on the TV. If you saw the BBC version then you'll know how good it is. If you didn't don't worry - the descriptions of the characters and places in, above and under London are so good you'll visualise it just right. The story concerns a young man who falls into the dark world of London Below
